Dear Families,
The year is running quickly by us all! It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is
around the corner! Hope the weather remains on the warm side. The weekend with snow
reminds us that winter is around the corner as well. Please make sure that students are
coming to school with jackets, hats and mittens. If we have snow on the ground they will
need snow pants and boots. Everyday all students are outside for at least 30 minutes.
Students need a doctor's note to be excused from going outdoors.
We have completed all our assessments and will shortly be evaluating progress on
the report card standards. Report cards will be going home on November 29, 2011. You
will find the standards and rubrics on the school website. We will have some available at
conference time if you were unable to download them or if you need a hard copy.
Parent/teacher conferences will be Thursday, December 1st. If this is not a good day,
please call your child's teacher to arrange for a time to meet and discuss progress.
Many thanks go out to all those who helped with the Yankee Candle fundraiser. It
was a huge success and classes are already making arrangements for trips and special
projects which this money will help pay for. Our next PTG meeting is Monday,
November 7, 6pm. Please come and join us and get involved in some of our other
projects.
I am trying hard to keep up with the calendar on the website with posting
activities that are coming up. Please know that at any time you are not sure of a date or
time just give us a call.
You are doing a great job with keeping up with lunch bills and please know that I
appreciate that you are doing this. Calling you is very hard for me and I am sure you do
not like hearing from me for that reason. Thanks!
